PAA (Pan American World Airways) luggage decal, ca. late-1940s-mid-1950s.
What helps narrowing down this piece of graphic ephemera’s timeframe (outside of its design-isms) is the depiction of the aircraft—likely a Boeing 377 Stratocruiser Clipper (great name—like the automobiles of the day, aircraft were given great names), launched in 1947 and retired in 1963.
Note, this predates Pan American’s jetset acronym, “Pan Am.” Looking back, most people would not think of them as “PAA.”
