Linda Lock-Art Goes Back to the Future
Linda Lock is a Vancouver based decorative artist who has helped define modern decorative art.By introducing avant-garde elements of altered art such as Somerset Studio influenced collages she has been able to succesfully employ image transfer onto a painting. In addition the work is often embellished with dimensionality in the form of texture pastes, molds and even glass work and metal sodering, not to mention the use of stencils and rubber stamps as well. Decorative painters who hitherto never shopped a canvas now began painting with better quality supplies and a more interesting array of materials.
Linda however has increased the integration of digital art and is now teaching altered art applications on photoshop to further empower the decorative artist to create on their own without a dependency on realizing a pre-established result.
