Starfleet Explores Left-Hand Planet of the Arts
At an outer perimeter of Delta Quadrant is a planet inhabited uniquely by a left handed civilization with human resemblances. They are Artemoids, so named after the Greek God of the arts, Artemis. Artemis’s moon is named Apollo, after the Greek God of music and poetry. The entire Artemoid population are practioners of the arts. It was to this virtually unknown planet, at the fringe of the Neutral Zone to which new research resources were channelled to determine the influence of Artemis on the history of art.
A surveillance and information gathering mission on Artemis was recently completed by a Vulcan educated team newly assigned to the Enterprise. There was specific instructions from Starfleet Command to boldly go where no right- hander had been before: To a planet of artists which stubbornly clings to their ancient left-handed culture.
Left-handed people are purported to possess an active dominance of the brain’s right side. This cerebral hemisphere is associated with genius, creativity and visual skill. A comprehensive research study from St.Lawrence University showed there were more left-handed people with IQ’s over 140 than right handed respondents on an absolute basis. Among left handed respondents there was an overwhelming preponderance in the music, visual arts and writing professions.
A Romulan defector from the Beta Quadrant had turned over research on Artemis to the United Federation of Planets. Romulan analysis indicated a definitive probability that the source of the LRRTRMI left handed gene originated from Artemis. The Artemin’s had found a technique to transmit and integrate their genius into the DNA of Da Vinci,Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Raphael, Woody Allen, Bob Dylan, Charlie Chaplin, Nicole Kidman, Marilyn Monroe and many others including the android robot ”Data” from Star Trek the Next Generation:

Best,
Dave
