Decades later, having had the opportunity to visit museums around the world, and talk with art historians and devotees, I now find his work fascinating. Primal, even. There's so much to absorb and see and experience. His art, especially if one gets the opportunity to view it up close, is visceral in emotion, but so carefully engineered for messaging at the same time.
