Here, There, Everywhere

They call him the Roger Federer of the composer’s baton. Classical music’s latest rising star Gustavo Dudamel, known for his flamboyant and overly enthusiastic on-stage performances and for his out of this world curly hair. He has become very popular quite fast, with the show 60 minutes doing an article on him among other honors. Born and raised in the humble Venezuelan city of Barquisimeto, he was recognized for his talent in music. eventually he was approached by musician and activist José Antonio Abreu who invited him to Caracas to develop his musical talent  and his career. Little did his mentor know of the splendid career ahead of young Gustavo.  He is now The Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Music Director of The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. But he is known most at the moment for his participation in Venezuela’s Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra also know as El Sistema.gdudamel_01

This Youth Orchestra organisation is loosely based on the same organization that put Dudamel on the map. An hommage of sorts to his mentor José Antonio Abreu.

This whole story seems fishy to me just a slight bit, The guy seems to be all over the place. Like there’s thousands of Gustavo clones all around the world doing concerts with each of these symphonies, doing interviews on T.V and saving babies from forest fires. He might be some kind of magician teleporting from place to place every night, or he could be like the magician from that movie “The Prestige”, where the magician turns out to have a twin brother that no one knew about, that would help him with his magic tricks and even go as far as fooling around with each other’s wives to keep the secret. Or maybe he came from the future and brought back clones or carbon copies of himself so that he could slowly take over the media industry. One thing’s for sure, this guy is making his mark.
