William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton feels my pain. Yep, I wrote the president—twice (the second time I got a letter back on WH stationary). This was responding to my complaint that the Postal Service was wasting $$ redesigning their logo and accompanying packaging. Stickin’ up for Raymond Loewy, y’know?
…I should point out that “despite” being recycled (good on ya Bill!), the paper stock is solid weight, cold press finish (natural white) with the WH seal ENGRAVED in gold (no cheapo emboss job!). The president’s facsimile signature is, however, standard. On the subsequent correspondence, the facsimile was higher quality, which could be mistook for actual pen ink by the untrained eye….
