…Here then, is a “thing” almost devoid of the characteristics of matter, coming to us from a different universe and probably ( since it has no mass and is unaffected by gravity) moving through a different time continuum. Could mental energy be analogous to such particles? And if so, could the Russian astronomer V.A. Firsoff have been right in proposing that mind is a “universal entity or interaction of the same order as electricity or gravitation,” composed of as yet undiscovered particles he called “mindons”?
The idea of the universe permeated by mind, or as an embodiment of mind, is taken with increasing seriousness by physicists who propose mind-stuff particles with different characteristics such as the also undiscovered “psychon.” And it is an elegant, if secular, analogue to the theological vision of a cosmos filled by God’s presence. The puzzle is the child’s catechism- “If God is everywhere, why do we not see him?” “We do not see God because He is a pure spirit” – is duplicated among the elusive psychons. Something like neutrino movement might possibly explain why the mysterious power of ESP transactions happens undisturbed by great distance, seemingly impenetrable hills, or thick walls.

—This is a recent card painted for Magic the Gathering called Time Reversal. It is part of the M11 Core release. I am selling 5 limited edition giclee prints on canvas of the image for $200. They are 11 x 14. I also have photo prints of the image available as well as artist proof cards.—Read More:http://howardlyon.com/blog/2010/07/16/magic-the-gathering-m11-core-time-reversal/
The strange time behavior of elementary particles may also be linked to the ESP phenomenon of precognition. Any subatomic particle with no mass may theoretically elude the Einsteinian restrictions on space-time by moving faster than light. One of the early ideas of Richard Feynman, the American Nobel prize winner of 1965, dealt with “time reversal.” Its starting point was the conduct of positrons, or anti-electrons, particles which are like electrons but with positive electrical charge and negative mass. Physicists somehow fail to find this concept stupefying.
These short-lived particles can barely exist in the suburb of the cosmos because electrons annihilate them on contact. But what, Feynman asked, if positrons are not anti-matter but normal electrons traveling backward in time? The possibilities emanating from this hypothesis almost defeat imagination. For it conjures a universe where our concept of time- flowing in one direction from past to future- is provincial; a universe perpetually oscillating being being and possibility, “trying itself out” with different kinds and rates of time in different places. Or, perhaps in the same place. ( to be continued) …
