this is what ‘beatnik’ lettering looked like. this is also what early ‘psychedelic’ lettering looked like until wes wilson discovered the wonders of art nouveau typography in an old art history text book in his college library. after that, psych type looked completely different and is now known in that ‘cliched’ style. but this is early psych type (actually beatnik type.)
