Newly arrived: Winsor & Newton three-pack canvas boards. Basically, the same product as their professional artist framed canvas on what seems like a masonite core board. The tooth is a bit rough for decorative painters, so a good coat of gesso is recommended. Value is A+ but can be plagued with some of the problems of Chinese made artist canvas, namely warping and twisting. A bit hit and miss at times and its possible that the inner board is not always matched to the stretching pressure of the cloth. Cost is about 60 per cent less than a mounted canvas of identical size.
