Apparently, a scrambled Rubik’s cube can be solved in 26 moves or less and certainly on average, under 55 manipulations of the standard 3x3x3 cube. Invented in 1974, Erno Rubik’s 3d mechanical puzzle has also been the source of an art sub-culture called Rubik’s cube art.
It could be regarded as Rubikcubism, Cubestraction, or simply nerd or geek art.In reality, its a form of pixel art as a form of urban art running complementary to graffiti art.
The French artist known by the pseudonym Invader or Space Invader is at the origin of this movement. He is also known for leaving his mark ( tag ) by placing tile art vesrsions of pixelated gaming invaders in unexpected places as a form of urban street art as well as exhibiting in off-off broadway style venues. Nike has launched a Rubik style street shoe and by using the iconography of Invader they have combined street-smarts and Rubik’s genius into a fashion statement.
