Roadsworth Roadkilling Boredom

Montreal graffiti artist ”Roadsworth” is a master of  de-materialized street art. His work on Montreal’s pavement diverted attention from the potholes and poverty and in a sense did a road-kill job on urban blight. However, to put those creative forces into play only to be subject to a municipal manhunt by diverse blue collar union officials who described him as ”scab” labor sent by anarchist elements within the administration.

To have the art erased within a short time after police photographed the evidence bears at least witness to a humble ego. The fears of a graffiti epidemic on the streets were unwarranted but brought to the public’s attention a growing and formidable modern art movement.
