Looks like the new Liquitex spray paint is going to do well. It is not cheap by any means, but their investment to make a very low odor aerosol paint using water based technology is to be recommended. The pigments are allegedly better than competitors like Montana Gold and original Montana ( MTN) from Spain since they are drawing on their expertise with fine art pigments.
The display looks good as well. The taggers and nuisance graf “artists” will continue to buy cheapo cans of higher level solvent based hardware brands like Krylon, but it is obvious here that Liquitex, or the parent company, Col-Art is exploring spray as an art form, as well they should. Their next step should be an airbrush paint to compete with Golden and Createx. Delivery is supposed to be late Fall, and since it is made in France, late Fall could stretch into Christmas. So far their new Liquitex plant in France, transferred from England, has been gaining a steady reputation for artisan quantity production. So we shall see. We have heard legendary stories of nosy French bureaucrats from the Colart Europe at the CHA show and delivery has been pushed back a few times already.
