palette pals

Maybe the best palette paper, at least for the price. Previously, Bienfang was the cream of palette papers, but after Hunt sold the line to Elmers and then they punted it to Speedball, the quality diminished to a substantial extent. So, Canson is the king for now. Forty sheets of 9×12 paper for $4.95 at Madame Pickwick. The Royal & Langnickel is the less pricey buy for beginners, but its worthwhile forking out the extra $1 for Canson; the sheets are slightly bigger and the coating holds the paint a bit better than Royal’s Chinese made paper. We are trying out the Strathmore paper and will give a synopsis of what we find.

In any event, none of this paper is very “eco”. Its not called disposable for nothing.
